Emma Byrne
Emma Anne Byrne (born 14 June 1979) is an Irish association footballer from Leixlip in County Kildare. She currently plays as a goalkeeper for the English team Arsenal, and also for the Republic of Ireland women's team.〔(FAI article )〕
==Club career==
Byrne joined Arsenal in January 2000 from St Patrick's Athletic, and has been their first choice goalkeeper ever since. She was voted club Players' Player of the Year in 2003 and 2005.
In April 2007 Byrne became a European champion with Arsenal, when they beat Umeå IK of Sweden in the final of the UEFA Women's Cup by 1–0 on aggregate, a tie in which she made numerous vital saves in the home and away games.〔(UEFA website )〕
